Whilst the Original Star Wars Trilogy is currently enjoying a massive DVD world-wide release, everyone’s attention is now turning forward to May 2005 when the final prequel explodes into theatres everywhere! Hasbro will continue the same tread as with EP1 and Ep2 by releasing sneak preview figures once again just months before the highly anticipated movie release date. Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith or “ROTS” for short, has many hooked already with expectations running high about Hasbro’s packaging design for ROTS, we can confirm that the blue saga series look which was used for EP2 and pre- Original Trilogy Collection “OTC” releases has gone. The transitional Star Wars Figure assortments beginning late 2004 and early 2005 will comprise of three figure assortment waves on OTC styled card packaging. The pre-ROTS figures are carded in the same Original Trilogy Collection design, but with a couple of changes, besides the Rebellion and Empire logos being omitted. Currently unless things have changed, Hasbro's Episode III ROTS packaging will erupt with a volcanic theme and be a fiery reddish orange and black colour, with Darth Vader's helmet back on the design! which is based on Original Ralph McQuarrie concept art from the very first designs of Darth Vader and coincides with Anakin Skywalker’s fall into darkness with the destruction of the Old Republic and the rise of the Empire. The design which has been floating around is simply awesome and very rich in colour! There is currently no word about further packaging designs for other figures which will appear beside the ROTS series as yet and still no word about the OTC series continuing on into 2005, but it may continue after the movie later in the year!

TO REVENGE OF THE SITH: COLLECTION
Star Wars - Post Original Trilogy Collection OTC 3 3/4 inch Basic Action Figure Assortments Include all new vintage style packaging that resembles the original line of Kenner Star Wars action figures. Four waves of figures will be the transition between the end of OTC and the beginning of Episode III ROTS in May ‘05. The best thing of all is that each new figure coming is a brand new never made before release which is going to appeal to all adult kids and collectors alike!

POST OTC Transition Wave 1 – EP2 Coruscant will include:

Pablo-Jill (Geonosis Arena); a heroic Jedi Knight stationed at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He is one of the courageous Jedi who go to Geonosis to help rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi from the evil Separatist forces at the first battle of the Clone Wars. Like all Jedi, he uses a lightsaber for defence and combat, and is skilled in the ways of the Force. Sly Moore; is the staff aide for Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and is never far from his side. She has a piercing gaze and can see in the ultraviolet spectrum. Her species, the Umbarans, are rumoured to be able to influence and even control the minds of others. It is believed that she is very close to Palpatine and knows his deepest secrets. Yarua (Republic Senator); a Wookiee Senator on Coruscant, he represents his home world Planet of Kashyyyk in the Galactic Senate. Although Wookiee’s are known for their strong tempers, Yarua is a voice of fairness and justice in the Old Republic government. Like all Wookiees, Yarua is an imposing presence in the halls of the Senate, with his great height and fierce demeanour.

POST OTC Transition Wave 2 – EP1 Naboo will include:

Queen Amidala (Naboo Celebration); Queen Amidala and the inhabitants of Naboo celebrate their victory over the invading Trade Federation. The Queen wears a decorative parade gown as the jubilant crowd cheers their freedom. The Gungans present Amidala with a Globe of Peace to thank her for her heroic efforts to protect the inhabitants of Naboo. Padme comes with Globe of Peace and base. Rabé (Naboo Royal Handmaiden); one of Padmé Amidala’s handmaidens, loyal aides who also serve as her bodyguards, one of her duties is to act as a decoy, impersonating Padmé in vulnerable situations. Very patient for one so young, Rabé comes with blaster and base.

POST OTC Transition EP4 Wave 3 – Cantina will feature:

everybody's favourite pipe smoker Dannik Jerriko, Feltipern Trevagg (the Goatal) and Myo the Cyclops alien creature are all new figures!. Dannik Jerriko as seen in the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars EP4 Episode IV A NEW HOPE is a very dangerous Anzati. When he attacks a victim, he uncoils small, trunk-like organs (called proboscises) hidden in his cheeks, inserts them into the victim’s nose and ingests the person’s blood and brain matter. Even the nastiest creatures in the cantina stay away from Jerriko. Collectors take note This is the first time this character has ever been produced by Kenner or Hasbro! Feltipern Trevagg as seen in the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars EP4 Episode IV A NEW HOPE is a bounty hunter who tracks Obi-Wan Kenobi to Tatooine after the Clone Wars but loses him. Trevagg stays on the planet and becomes a corrupt tax collector in Mos Eisley. His species is called the Gotal, who can sense emotions and energy waves that many speices can’t, a trait that comes in handy for tracking. Collectors take note This is the first time this character has ever been produced by Kenner or Hasbro! Myo as seen in the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars EP4 Episode IV A NEW HOPE. Myo spends a lot of time in the Mos Eisley cantina, hoping to get into a fight. His species, the Abyssin from the planet Byss, are primitive, violent and can re-grow lost limbs. Myo is very fearless and with his one central eye, he can spot trouble as it is about to happen—when he isn’t finding a way to cause it. Again a Brand New Figure! Collectors take note This is the first time this character has ever been produced by Kenner or Hasbro which is another collecting first!

POST OTC Transition OTC Wave 4 – OTC SAGA will feature:

The final OTC wave 4, before ROTS (Ep3 Revenge Of The Sith) contains figure characters from the OTC (Original Trilogy Collection) Series in a type of repack format. These figures although mainly the same as the '04 line have slightly different packaging and names. Included will be Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Training with backpack not the handstand position!), Darth Vader (Death Star Hangar), Stormtrooper (Death Star Attack), Sandtrooper (Tatooine Search) most likely to be very rare! Scout Trooper (Endor Raid), Han Solo (Mos Eisley Escape), Chewbacca (Hoth Escape) and Master Jedi - Yoda (Dagobah Training). The figures from this wave and most importantly the Sandtrooper (Tatooine Search) will be most likely be the rarest as the final wave of OTC will be shipped in a more limited supply by the end of the Transition series with Ep3 ROTS approaching in full force by April.

POST OTC Transition ROTS Wave 5 – SNEAK PREVIEWS will feature:

Finally Transition Wave 5 before ROTS (Ep3 Revenge Of The Sith) contains figure characters from the Episode III ROTS movie called the Sneak Preview Assortment that will include (only 4 characters like Episode II): Astromech Droid R4-G4 (Orange R2 Unit)that accompanies Obi-Wan Kenobi on a mission to the sinkhole planet of Utapau, where Obi-Wan hopes to destroy General Grievous, the supreme commander of the Separatist droid armies. General Grievous (Hunter Killer) which will be the first film version as seen late in the Clone Wars cartoon series, a brilliant military fighter and commander of the droid armies. He was trained in lightsaber combat by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku), making him a particularly deadly opponent for the Jedi. Wookiee Warrior The towering, fur-covered Wookiees defend their home planet of Kashyyyk when the Clone Wars shatter their peaceful jungle world. Intelligent, fiercely loyal and exceedingly strong, the Wookiees are led into battle by Yoda. Tion Medon played by well loved Australian actor Bruce Spence (Best known to everyone as the Gyro Captain in Mad Max 2 the Road Warrior!), Tion is the local administrator on the remote sanctuary of the planet Utapau, a planet pitted with enormous sinkholes. He meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has arrived in search of the droid army leader General Grievous. these figures will appear on the new Revenge Of The Sith Packaging style! Also to be available in the Sneak Preview series will be an action figure sized Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Starfighter, a MR Potato Head version of Darth Vader called "Darth Tater" and there will be a Super Soaker Wookiee Water Blaster shipping in the Sneak Peak Preview range.

CLONE WARS CONTINUES BEFORE EPISODE 3 BEGINS:
The Animated Clone Wars mini-series will continue in early 2005 before EP3 is launched on the big screen. Whilst the final chapters of the cartoon are shown on T.V, Hasbro will release a special animated series figure wave, which will introduce the Hunter Killer General Grievous, and also bring us new versions of Anakin Skywalker, ARC Trooper and Obi-Wan Kenobi. This will be followed in early April 2005 by the entire Clone Wars Animated Series 1 and 2 on DVD together for the first time ever in one boxed set and will really put the extra hype into gear for the final prequel following world wide in May.
