During the Battle of Yavin, the Y-Wing
Fighter Gold Squadron assisted in the assault on the Imperial Death Star. In a
desperate effort to safeguard the Rebel Alliance base and eradicate the Empire's
space station, the Y-Wings mount a heroic, yet futile, first wave attack to
target the thermal exhaust port and start a chain reaction in the Death Star's
power generator core. As X-Wing and Y-Wing Fighter's try to evade Darth Vader's
Imperial Tie Fighter and escorts, Luke Skywalker leads a daring assault against
the imposing Death Star which ignites in a super charged galactic explosion.

Rebel Y-Wing Star Fighters are present right through out the original Star Wars
Trilogy. From the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars A New Hope, where Y-wing Gold
Squadron assisted in the first assault against the original Death Star, to The
Nebulon-B Medical Frigate escort duty in the Rebel's escape from Hoth in the
Empire Strikes Back. Then on to the Battle of Endor where the Rebel Alliance
formed a giant armada and lead a massive all or nothing attack against the
second and more powerful Death star, in Return of the Jedi.
