IMPERIAL TIE BOMBER 2-pack
Features:
The most anticipated Star Wars vehicle release in the last 20 years has finally arrived. Once released from its cardboard shell, the TIE Bomber is quite impressive.
Though smaller in scale, as related to other Star Wars ships, the vehicle appears to be in perfect scale relative to itself. Its body detail and wing lines are sharp and clean,
with more than enough detail to resemble an actual movie prop model. The bomb release mechanism is a fun feature and presented in a very hassle free way.
Simply load the bombs into a small hole in the weapons pod, and release them at the touch of a button. Even the bombs themselves are impressive, featuring a clear sculpted
mould with a coloured core.
Definitely not just a chunk of plastic the Bomber has some of the best detail ever used on a Star Wars Toy Vehicle / Ship to date. Of particular interest is the cockpit interior.
Hasbro have paid some attention with the cockpit and it’s nice to see controls and levers
moulded into the armrests. Though it would have been a major plus for the Bomber to come electronic with sounds,
this exclusive 2-pack is well worth the much anticipated release and the high price it already commands. This vehicle will be one of the most popular Star Wars Toys in current history.
With the TIE Bomber vehicle box measuring 7 & 1/2" Inches high, 13 & 1/2" Inches in width (across) and 13" Inches deep (from box front to box back), this baby is huge.
The Imperial navy grey used for the fighter bomber makes the detail stand right out and say buy me. The Bomber is expected to sell extremely well and will disappear from stores very quickly.
Look out, every Star Wars Collector will be on the prowl for one of these. This is the first and maybe the last time the TIE Bomber will be released.
Collector’s note* the original classic 1980’s Die-Cast is worth over $1,000 this
TIE Bomber release may follow the same path in only a very short time.
VEHICLE 2-PACK FEATURES:
Opening Ingress/Egress cockpit Hatch
3 High Yield Proton Bombs
Twin Ion Engine Thrusters
Ordinance Pod: Push button to release Bomber payload
Missile Port
Bombing Chute
Targeting Sensors
Solar Array Wing’s
Special Imperial T.I.E Fighter Bomber Pilot Action Figure.
TIE BOMBER:
Vehicle version and movie scene:

TIE Bombers are the prime assault bombers of the
Empire. In traditional attacks, TIE Fighters first soften up the target, and
then the TIE Bombers come in to finish the job. Their sophisticated targeting
sensors enable them to hit specific targets without damaging surrounding areas.
This allows them to disable vital areas so the Imperial forces can take control
of the crippled vessel or space station. TIE Bombers carry a heavy and diverse
payload that allows them to not only attack ships and stations but also perform
ground bombing and deploy orbital mines. In Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back,
TIE Bombers are deployed to locate the Millennium Falcon when it hides in an
asteroid field after it’s escape from the Battle Of Hoth. Escorted by TIE
Fighters, TIE Bombers pack a lethal punch. Recreate your own Star Wars Galaxy
Today.
Original TIE BOMBER 2pk News (from early 2001):
Finally At long last after 20 years the wait is nearly over, Hasbro will be
producing an action figure sized TIE Bomber with Tie pilot 2-pack.
The TIE bomber has always been a popular design
from the original trilogy that both kids and collectors should respond well to
because it's never been done before. They will be adapting the existing TIE
pilot mould to allow bending knees for a better fit, using existing tooling from
the wings of Darth Vader's TIE Fighter and modifying them for sharper detail, combined with a newly tooled torso, the ship
became a reality. The wings don't explode off like the regular TIE fighter and
the second bomber cockpit is the arsenal which can actually drop three missiles,
as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. With the original Die-Cast Bomber worth
upwards of $1,000 to $1,500 Australian, the supply will again be short for this
vehicle and because it's one of the most anticipated toy vehicle releases of all
time and so popular, just imagine how collectable it's going to be in the years
to come!! This U.S Exclusive is heading for Wal-Mart in March 2002, The Bomber will have a beautifully
detailed window box with actual pictures from the Empire Strikes Back movie.
There is only going to be about 5 to 10,000 of these for sale world-wide and
they won't last long on the shelves.. See One and Buy One. These will be very,
very popular!
